Why doesn't ESQ show up on your website. It only shows up if I login. Others have complained.

Glad to see Houdini Esq listed. Long time ProLaw user. We were able to get rid of Exchange and no longer need Citrix to get to our data remotely. ProLaw's web product is really bad.

We self host and are very happy and since the code is the same I can honestly say that Houdini Esq is the best legal practice application in the clouds in my opinion.

Yes, I agree. It is the best. I'm a long time Time Matters user from back when Bob Butler was CEO. I have Time Matters World server and can finally chuck the SG20 it is running on.

I asked everyone in the HoudiniESQ training center to vote before they forget since classes will be over tomorrow. Thanks for voting.

I tried Clio first, and while I liked the layout and look of it, its Achilles' heel -- and that of all other cloud-based case services -- is the lack of email integration. That's such a critical feature, and will only become more so. And even if someone else comes up with a cloud-based approach that does integrate email, don't forget that this was designed by the same guy who worked on TimeMatters. Frank and his team understand what we're looking for, and are constantly working to make it better.

I also tried Clio but I moved to ESQ for a different reason entirely. I never heard of HoudiniESQ until several of my staff members mentioned that they hated the fact that they now had to use several different applications to effectively manage our practice. One of them asked why didn't we use Houdini?

After years with ProLaw my staff had certain expectations when we decided to move to a web based solution. I now see why Houdini was the right choice.

We switched from Time Matters to Houdini Esq as soon as it was released. I have seen many improvements since then and can see where the product is going and we are very excited.

Ditto. Good riddance data corruption issues and very poor expensive support.

My Staff and I recently left AdvoLogix for Houdini because we needed full email integration full document text search including our email and email attachments. The interface in HoudiniESQ is by far the best there is. As a long time Time Matters user prior to making the mistake of moving to AdvoLogix we have found that the learning curve was significantly shorter with Houdini than both AdvoLogix and Time Matters.

Viewing my Houdini Email on our Android phones is really important. We can link emails to a matter. enter notes on matters etc very easily. The Mobile app is really good.

$1,500 dollars for a additional seat just because we are on Windows 7.

That is what Amicus told us. We had to upgrade our server and purchase a maintenance plan just to add a new seat. We decided to make a move.

We didn't want to get into the situation we are in now with a company like Time Matters or Pro Law since their business models all seem to be the same. We have some Macs in our offices now and thought that a product that runs on WIndows and Macs would be a good idea. With the internet playing a bigger role in our practice every year we decided to look at new upcoming companies that provide SaaS software since they will provide us platform independence and web accessibility.

It has been several months now and we finally made our decision after trying Rocket Matter, Advologix PM and Clio. We thought what we needed was a SaaS product but after evaluating several we settled on Houdini. It feels more like a PMS, does far more then any of the others, it doesn't feel like a half baked Legal portal and its overall cost long term is really affordable.

After talking with a sales representative at Houdini we found that our needs really didn't justify the expense of SaaS because all our partners really wanted was web accessibility and the ability to run on Windows or Macintosh. Although all SaaS products provide these feature it is expensive when you factor in the seat cost per month per year, every year.

With Houdini Server we could save a bundle. 10 seats would have cost us $480 a month or $5,760 a year, every year on Clio, Rocket Matter and Houdini. With Advologix it would be nearly $1,000 a month. The sales rep said if we hosted the product ourselves it would cost us just $1,750 the first year and $960 a year after that including all upgrades.

Well we are happy to report that the transition was easy and uneventful. We have web access to our data, we can access the product on our Macs and Windows machines and we have the piece of mind knowing all our data is in our offices.

I think the Houdini folks really took the time to understand our needs and provide us with the most cost effective means to meet all our objectives. It is a wonderful product and we are happy with it.

I think overall the Houdini folks just get it.

I own a construction business and use Houdini ESQ to manage all our projects, sub-contractors, inspection and filling dates etc. It is really a great program. I just wish it had a way to view architectural plans without having to tote paper tubes around all the time.

Interesting. I guess ESQ could be used anywhere you would a CRM or need web access to your data. Pretty cool Arty.

I'm a convert form GoMatters to Houdini Esquire. Like night and day. Houdini would have saved me a lot of time if I knew of Houdini months ago.

So long LexisNexis. Houdini was just in time. LexisNexis' attempt to charge me for bug fixes and call it AMP has cost them a long time client and 13 seats.

I guess that to get the mortgage loans from banks you ought to have a good motivation. However, one time I have received a auto loan, just because I was willing to buy a bike.
